DAMAGING WINDS DEVELOPING FOR SOUTHERN RANGES LATE FRIDAY. Weather Situation Increasing northwesterly winds ahead of the cold front expected to move through southeast NSW Saturday morning. Winds expected to ease behind front. Damaging winds averaging around 60 km/h with peak gusts of 100 km/h are forecast for the Snowy Mountains, ACT and Southern Tablelands forecast districts late Friday and early Saturday morning, particularly for higher parts. Winds about the Alpine peaks may average 80 km/h and gust to 120 km/h.
