“This dunya hurts sometimes. And I mean HURTS. Aasiya was a believing woman, married to Pharoah, one of the most evil men in history. When she refused to renounce her faith, Pharoah had her tortured to death. While being tortured, she looked up at the sky and made her Duaa that has been immortalized in the Quran: “My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people” (66:11). Each one of us will go through trials and difficulties in this dunya. When we come to terms with this, we can refocus our energy on what really matters – doing whatever is in our power to be the BEST among people, and do the BEST actions and deeds, so we can build a home for ourselves in Jannah. Ya Allah, build for us a home in Jannah near you!
