This evening Mark and I along with my beautiful mum Ruth had the absolute privilege of sitting amongst a room of amazing, selfless people who have been making blood and plasma donations. We were there to celebrate those whove made donations 50, 100, 150, 200 and a whopping 300 times! A gentleman shared with us his journey as a donor starting in 1965. I had the pleasure and honor of telling my story and in doing so was given the opportunity to say thank you to those people that could possibly have saved my life among others by giving their donations. This Christmas Eve will mark 2 years since my transplant which means I can finally make contact with my donor, my very own, very real life saver and try to say how grateful I am for their amazing gift.
