This gon take a while and everybody wont like it, so make sure you got time: Being that my assurance is often mistaken as arrogance, what Im about to post peremptorily, should not become as a shock to those whom, obviously got me confused as someone concerned with following the crowd: Yall ready? Lets crack the shell with a statement made by author, historian, Bible Theologian, and ordained Minister, Dr. Eddie L. Hyatt: We are never told in scripture to be apostolic. Our ultimate destiny is not to be like Peter, John or Paul, but to be conformed to the image of HIS SON (Romans 8:29). We follow the apostles of the New Testiment ONLY as their example leads us and points us to JESUS CHRIST, as Paul stated in 1Corithians 11:1, Follow me as I follow CHRIST. It is in this sense that we may consider ourselves apostolic in that we follow those earliest apostles in their ABSOLUTE devotion and commitment to JESUS, not because we have aligned ourselves with a particular church or adopted a certain church order. Needless to say, I totally agree with Dr. Hyatt. It saddens me when modern day apostles attempt to make others feel some type of way when they do not get caught up in Old Testimement rituals and routines that does absolutely nothing for our salvation. Great education, yes; great enlightenment, yes; great to know, yes; great for bible studies and a broader understanding of Jehovah, yes; great in washing away our sins and keeping the focus on HaMashiach Yeshua (JESUS CHRIST), absolutely not. Old Testiment rituals, orders, practices, and beliefs therein are seeming to be the center of attention for, not all, but a vast majority of modern day apostles while, Ha Adon Moshia HaOlam HaMoshia lchol Adam (The Lord, The Savior of the world, The Savior of all men) gets airtime whenever its convenient. Unlike the apostles of old, Peter, John, and Paul whom devoted their life to keeping CHRIST as their direct focus, absolute center piece, chief cornerstone, and main attraction! Peter, after the healing of the cripple man in Acts 3 redirects the attention, glory and homage the people wanted to pay he and John, and emphasize to them that JESUS is the reason and where homage should be given. Paul, master of divinity, professional concerning the jewish customs, calenders, rituals, practices, laws and orders makes a bold declaration in relations to all such things in Phil.3:7-8stating, But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for CHRIST. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of CHRIST JESUS my LORD: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things (watch this), and do count them as dung (thats doo doo or boo boo, whichever you prefer), that I may win CHRIST. He (Paul) strengthens this statement and very well taken point by those who have ears to hear, with a reinforcement follow up adress to the bretheren in verse 13, stating, Bretheren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind (the outline of those things are made very clear), and reaching forth (key word= forth) unto those things which are before, v.14, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of GOD in CHRIST JESUS. As I bring this post to a close...... simply stated, agree or disagree, I am undisputedly apostolic! But let the record reflect, I am very much different. My press is forward rather than backward. I might miss a date, may not follow certain customs or ever be popular in that wide crowded modern day apostolic arena where as long as you got routine and rituals down packed you can avoid having to deal with and accept true commitment to CHRIST, but I guarantee you, I wont miss Heaven! If you took the time to read this entire post and it offended you, it should have. If it did not, its possible that youre apostolically different also! Not targeting anyone that I miss. GN.
