This guy is an IDIOT! Of COURSE it will RAISE TAXES! Where does he think that increased revenue would come from? I just did a prelim state income tax calculation. Because of a major income change, which reduced my Federal income taxes, I see that my State income tax will be HIGHER this year. DUH! However... I really DO think that the Fed Tax Deduction should be eliminated, because of the regressive nature of our tax structure in AL. Those with higher incomes get a MUCH BIGGER break on their state taxes, because they are paying much higher Fed taxes. Look at all of the REVENUE the state is throwing away!! Rep. John Knight has been trying for MANY years to get the Fed Tax deduction eliminated, in exchange for eliminating sales tax on groceries.
