This happened earlier this summer at a local store. There was a group of Canadian women on motorcycles. I was busy checkin out their great bikes when two of the women came in to pay. They had bought nothing else other than the gas. The clerk told them the cost and the woman said, No.. the pump says___. There was a few cents difference. The young clerk said, well yes, there is a few cents difference between the pump and what it reads in here. The Canadian woman said, you have to take what the pump says outside otherwise it is false. The clerk readily accepted the correct price, however it was painfully evident that this is an accepted practice. The inside cost is a few cents more than what the pump says!!! Most people havent a clue!!! Watch your numbers. A few cents doesnt seem like much but over a lifetime it sure is a lot!! And.. its YOUR money, not the stores. This is STEALING. Right under our noses.
