This has been a long journey, many up and downs. There are times where I just wanted to give up. I realize I will never make everyone happy. I understand that when doing something positive, people who are miserable want to bring you down. When I see those negative states I ask myself what is their agenda? Are they trying to help the cause? What positive actions are they taking to make their community healthier? As a parent I know that sitting around complaining about what is happening, IS NOT helping the problem. If we want change WE need to do something. I have read posts that I am “manipulating people”, that because of ME people do not want to donate toward the bench. I have been told I am the wrong person to do this campaign, again WHO is the right person? Negativity breeds negativity. I recently read a post that was belittling me as a person and the cause I stand for (this person has me blocked). To accompany this post, others joined in with belittling comments. It is frustrating trying to be a productive and constructive part of the community when people just want you to fail. I am thankful, that I have people I can call up when I feel like just giving up. The campaign would have never come this far without all the uplifting support….yes Cyndy Martin, Andy Mundt and Tracy Thompson. You have helped so much.
