This has been a week of declaring rock (and roll dead). (I.E. Grammy’s & whathaveyou) No one has an answer; they just want to say its dead. It being 90’s Thursday, I will point out an audio truth about rock and roll (that my esteemed Club Eclectica members already get). In the 90’s this became a hit because this band earned it. The recording was honest. The whole thing while simple. Right now there is a band named Seether that decided to copy the song, and radio is playing like it owes it money. It is a high cost recording with every studio effect in the book from a high profile band that has all the support in the Rock (and Roll) format. And it misses the slight magic that Veruca Salt had in he 90s. It is an audio display of what is wrong with Rock (and Roll) right now. It’s not the music, it’s the ones picking the music and how they are picking it. Much like that princess that slept until the prince kissed it, what was that, When Harry met Sally? Rock (and Roll) will wake up when the right person comes and kicks it in the balls. youtube/watch?v=8-Y4BFigMC0
