This has been going on for years. I friend was in and out of the West Haven VA due to sickness, He had $43,000 dollars owed to him by the Govt through the VA. They kept stalling him while he slept out side in a wooded area between I-95 and Campbell Av exit year round. Making a make-shift tent with whatever he was able to find, sleeping in the so called tent in a hole in the ground and a small fire to keep warm in hope no one sees the light from the small fire and reporting him. Every time he was to receive his $43k his worker would tell him next month and then told him what are you going to do with it anyway, wast it, or drink it up. Well that winter he was found dead in the snow. Tom was a man that was injured in Nam and when released from the service was thrown under the bus by the VA and then died a poor, sick, and along man one night in the snow cover tent.
