This has been, without a doubt, the most difficult day of my life. - TopicsExpress

This has been, without a doubt, the most difficult day of my life. How do you say goodbye to the man who set the best example of how you should live your life? My Dad worked hard all his life to provide a roof over our heads, food on our table and the means to secure an education to begin our own lives and never thought he was doing enough when he did so much more than he ever would take credit for. He taught us to work hard, love completely, have fun whenever possible, to look for the best in people, to never be selfish and have your entire families back at all times. I take solace in the fact the Dad did not have to suffer in his final moments and was being ornery and stubborn right up to the end. He was diagnosed with diabetes 10 years ago and every day since that time has been a blessing. We have thousands of memories to think of to keep him alive in our hearts until were reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. Dad touched a lot of peoples lives in his lifetime and met very few people he didnt like. The turnout we witnessed yesterday and today was testament to that fact. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the kind souls who suffered through the two to three hour wait to pay their respects. Your kind words of condolence meant more than I have words to begin to describe. They helped to ease the pain of the loss my family and myself have been feeling these last several days and will continue to feel in the coming days. I couldnt even begin to venture a guess on the number of people that I have talked to the last two days. The viewing was supposed to end at 8p.m. last night and we didnt walk out until after 10:30. This was the greatest testament and witness to the caring man that was my Father. I pray that God blesses all who came to visit us, all who have kept us in their prayers and thoughts this week and helped us say our final goodbyes to the most kind and loving man that was our Dad, Husband, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, In-law, Cousin, Uncle, Friend, Adopted Family member; the list goes on and on. Rest in peace, Dad. Be free from pain and all physical ailments that you have endured these last 10 years to stay with us and to continue to make the memories we will so cherish in the years to come and to continue to teach us how to be better, caring people. The checkered flag has been flown, the finish line has been crossed and its time to celebrate in that big Winners Circle in the sky. Well love you forever.
