This in from Amy Holmes....a dear friend who posted this on her website. She is so right. We have become so lazy and callous to the world around us. No one sees the insanity of this deal we have made with the Taliban. The very evil group who is bent on destroying any ones life that doesnt fit their beliefs. It is maddening. She states: I have to vent to you who I suspect may be sympathetic. I am deeply troubled by the ambivalence around us at this hostage exchange deal. Where is the outrage? Where is the sense of disgust and betrayal? Where is even a healthy dose of mistrust of this administration and their suspect level of competence? It is inconceivable to me that our media and our electorate are so naïve and blind and so nonchalant about the fact that we just released five high-level hostiles from captivity to a rogue totalitarian entity in exchange for a treasonous coward. How is it that no one seems to care? This is a new low for America and for democracy.
