This informative film ran on PBS Wednesday, and helps clarify how difficult it is for low income families in rural Guatemala to provide the dietary diversity needed to combat child malnutrition. Seeds for a Future (Semillas Para el Futuro) has developed an integrated program with the people of the Chocola region which is aimed directly at helping such families help themselves: family vegetable gardens and small animals for food security and nutrition, agricultural training to improve family income, and practical learning opportunities to support health and lifestyle improvements. We believe our grass-roots approach, based on training and coaching over an extended time frame, will result in true sustainability as the skills and experience gained become embedded within the families and communities. Join us in a grass-roots effort to fight malnutrition and give kids a healthy start in life! Follow us on Facebook, check out our two projects featured on Global Giving (goto.gg/13523, goto.gg/14550) and shop at our Web Thrift Store (webthriftstore/app/#!/charities/seeds). Your financial support means we can train more local staff and expand the number of families in the program.
