This is Blue, and today is a day to pause and pay tribute to him. For twelve long years he endured life on chain. Thanks to the advocacy of a neighbor, Fences For Fido learned of Blue and on March 22nd we built him a fence. We can only believe that these past 25 days for Blue have been like heaven on earth. And now Blue has gone to that place...heaven...the bridge...we just know for sure hes not here on earth any longer. We lost him today to cancer. We hope that those volunteers who came to know and love Blue as his freedom was built take some measure of comfort that he had 25 glorious spring days to roam free. We all agree with volunteer Dolores who said I wish that we had found him sooner. Those of you who find the chained fidos and let us know they need help--you are essential; never doubt it. Rest in peace, sweet Blue.
