This is a bit worrying. Im always wary of scientists playing God. I am a firm believer that animal groups die off for a reason. Its sad and its horrible, but this isnt a tiger with creatures still alive; this bird has been out for a long time, over a hundred years. Returning a bird that died off to the world is also returning its genetic material to an environment that has evolved without it. It could have impact on other animals, other bird groups, even humans. I realize the need to want to recreate the past, but something should stay in the past and be admired for what they were until we know more about genetic engineering and develop ironclad rules about what gets remade.
