Mabel was rescued from her previous owner when she was being walked down the street near the Art Musuem. She was on a frayed rope, was underweight and had eight fresh cigarette burns on her head. She was unresponsive to human contact but once her foster got her home and fed her she immediately came to life and scarfed down an entire bowl of dog food and a bowl of water. They took her to the vet that night (Mt Airy Animal Hospital) where, other than her head burns, she was in great shape. She received all vaccinations, flea treatment, and an antibiotic cream for the burns, and the scabs on her back. They approximated that she is around 1-2 years old. Shes VERY shy, but has become very attached to her foster Dad. She follows him around the house, when he leaves, she cries. She enjoys laying on the couch and snuggling. HUGE SNUGGLER. SNUGGLE ALERT! She is adorably clumsy. She trips ups the stairs, down the stairs. She doesnt jump on the couch, she climbs, and she manages to trip while doing that too. She doesnt play with toys. She doesnt know how. She knows her name. She knows no sit outside treat. She walks like a dream on a leash. She is completely house trained. She doesnt make much noise, other than groaning when shes getting loves or trying to find the comfy spot on the couch. Shes curious about cats, but seems to be okay with them. She doesnt have any issues with food. She needs love, patience, gentle and kind personality. She needs emotional support, other than that, shes perfect!
