This is a draft letter, I am open to comment... 19 July ‘13 Dear Friends, I am happy to be writing you with good news today. Veteran-Friends has just been created. It is a Quaker organization, the mission is four parts: to succor veterans and other victims of war, to work with youth on military issues, valiant peace witnessing, and promoting the Quaker way. I will be the minister of this new organization. I have been working in these areas for years, and now will focus exclusively on them. I am humbly appealing to you in a time of need. I have recently been denied unemployment benefits, after leaving Parish ministry at Smith Neck Friends meeting. My phone was shut off this morning, I am about to have my car repossessed and have not been able to pay child support this month. I am turning to you, for both this immediate need and for long range seed funds. Please invest in Veteran-Friends. I am looking forward to many faithful works in these areas.
