This is a fascinating story. Rand Pauls latest staff hire says: --she opposes the pledge of allegiance because it comes from a Christian socialist (including a picture comparing it to the Nazi pledge) --describes herself as a former militant atheist now turned tolerant atheist --promoted an allegedly anti-Israel group (Ive never heard of) called Breaking the Silence --blogged repeatedly about Iran fear mongering regarding their threat to the West, and said those that buy into it are guilty of blind nationalism. --accused a poster who said I stand with Israel of having an irrational allegiance to them.” But the part that really fascinates me is this: Last March, Copenhaver criticized Sen. Paul’s public call for Russian sanctions after the Crimea invasion. But she also agreed with another Facebook user who wrote that PAUL WAS JUST PLAYING THE GAME and did not genuinely support these sanctions. “I know and I understand that,” wrote Copenhaver. “It just always hurts to hear him say these things when he knows damn well they’re wrong.”
