This is a man I respect!!! I have read Night and many of his other works I was made to read Night during my college term in North Carolina despite asking my English Professor to excuse me due to being 1/2 polish he refused. I am glad he did even though it was very hard for me to get through the book. I was then put in a group with 3 other people and had to make a short film about the book. While 95% of the class decided it was better to highlight their short film on when the camps were freed and what lead up to the camps I made our group do our film on the horrors of the camps and how such things should never be done to a human being. We elaborated on how no person who has a heart or any moral fiber in their body could do such a thing and had to be one sick S.O.B. to do so. We also wrote a letter to Elie Wiesel and sent him a copy of our assignment with a copy of the short film. He wrote us back a letter addressed to our Professor saying that it was one of the best films he had seen and that he was very proud to write back a response and the he knew that these 4 students had a bright future ahead of us. He also went on to say that he was glad his book touched us so deeply and that we werent afraid to show the bad side of horrible situation. I went on to do in-depth research on this part of history I could do nothing but constantly cry. This should never happen again but unfortunately with the world looking up to the wrong people it is bound as they say for history to repeat itself. What a shame!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elie_Wiesel
