This is a message from Lynne, one of the volunteer board members. I will try and get my facts straight. Please forgive me. We are getting information updates constantly. Everyone is in crisis mode and we are extremely emotional and desperate to save the animals at the C.A.R.L. Pet Care Center and Sanctuary. Chris and Laura are safe and okay. Our caretaker has been taken to county to be treated for respiratory issues. Please keep him in your thoughts. The dogs are in danger. The fire department has evacuated the area. The sheriffs department will not let us on site. We have an evacuation plan in place. We have gathered horse trailers, crates and volunteers on Todd Road to assist us. The media outlets have been contacted. We need to try and get access to the property to get our dogs out. Ohana, VMSG and Anacapa are all ready to help provide triage to our animals. Balcom Canyon Pet Lodge has offered to shelter our animals. Right now we just need to get them out ASAP. What can you do? Please contact council members, the sheriffs department, fire chief, etc. They need to know that these animals lives matter too. I will update you all as I can.
