This is a model of the fishing boat, Daigo-Fukuryu-Maru, that received radio-active dust from the experimental explosion of a hydrogen-fission bomb in 1954. It is displayed at Tokyo Tech Museum and Archives now. Professor Emeritus Yasushi Nishiwaki found that fishermen on the boat received strong radiation from the dust. He was a professor of Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors, Tokyo Tech. till September 1970.
