This is a photo of Sarah and me”. (That’s CORRECT!) To say “Sarah and I” here would be grammatically incorrect. One would never say “This is a photo of I”. (Using a direct object in a plural situation does not change it into a subject.) “They fired Bill and me”. (That’s CORRECT!) To say “Bill and I” would be grammatically incorrect. One would never say “They fired I”. (Using a direct object in a plural situation does not change it into a subject.) Also applies to the phrase you and me (direct object) or you and I (subject). I realize that the incorrect use of “I” happens FREQUENTLY in song lyrics, television shows, etc. (That DOESN’T make it right.) If there is anyone who does not understand why these sentences should end with “me” (not “I”), feel free to ask.
