This is a poem written by Heather Cherry about her sweet baby boy Grady. They were our 6th Emma family we were able to bless, and I cant believe its been a year. Heather you inspire me and I want you to know how much you have taught me this last year. Today is a day when bittersweet sadness covers my heart. A sadness that makes me remember such a beautiful life and baby boy that was born at 8:20 am on Nov. 15, 2013. Words cant explain the year we have been through, but today shows us that we have survived and have lived to celebrate such a miraculous moment! Lord, if you grant me one wish, Please give my baby a kiss. Tell him I love him and miss him so, It was so hard to let him go. A task I knew I must complete, Something I still try to do week to week. I loved watching you wiggle at night, I will never forget the time you grasped my finger tight. Id give anything to go back, Id be stuck to your side like a tack. I know God knows all, Its just sometimes I am afraid to bawl. Every tear I shed reminds me of you, Cribs, hospitals, and the color blue. A time in my life when I was lost, Youve shown me how to love at such a high cost. Nothing will ever make my pain go away, But I hold on to seeing you again someday. Each day brings sadness, but also a glimpse of hope, I hang on to your love with a long rope. May you be happy in heaven as I have learned down here, Rest in peace for all eternity, me sweet dear.
