This is a shout-out to all of those that have made 2014 a success (especially to Jill Hughes) Today marks the 1-year anniversary for Bull Oak Capital. Apparently, this is a big deal as 8 out of 10 companies fail within the first year. Glad to be a part of the surviving 20%! Quite honestly though, I never had a doubt. I have experience in this field, an education, a well thought-out investment strategy, and a fabulous support network (Family, Friends, & Anderson!). It certainly wasnt easy, though. 2014 was a crazy-busy year. I launched Bull Oak, graduated from UCLA Anderson, and my family and I moved to San Diego. Oh, and I vowed to only check facebook once a month (best decision ever). The last part was a big deal. Who knew I had so much spare time lying around? :) Entrepreneurism is where its at. We need more of this, especially from the UCLA Anderson School of Management community. I honestly encourage anybody who is seriously thinking about starting their own company to do so. Creating and running Bull Oak has given me such a great sense of accomplishment and pride. It really is cool creating something from nothing and to be challenged everyday, especially in a competitive industry like finance. And not to mention genuinely helping people! If youre thinking about it, sack-up and take the plunge!
