This is a status from one of our locals, and could possibly be affecting you..... Im sure many local residents have noticed and been affected by the horrible and unpleasant odours wafting over Edgware which has been much more pungeant and noxious than the smells generated from the large number of take aways, restaurants etc that blight the high street (thats a moan for another time!) I was told by some people that it was just farmers spreading manure. However, after some digging (not in the manure I hasten to add!!), I have discovered that there is a composting site run by a company called Reviva located on Elstree Hill. This company manufacture compost from a variety of waste products. I am all for recycling but I think this is an unsuitable site for this process being located close to urban areas, despite being on the edge of the green belt. I called Barnet Council who helpfully informed me that the matter is being investigated by the Environment Agency. I would urge anyone whos been affected to call them on 0800 807 060 where they will lodge your complaint. The more people that get in contact with the agency, the more likely it is that something will be done to resolve this.
