Today I woke up with a spirit of disappointment. For a fleeting - TopicsExpress

Today I woke up with a spirit of disappointment. For a fleeting moment I felt my eyes burning with tears, but I shook it off and by the time I left home I was smiling…even laughing…probably a maniacal deranged laugh, but nevertheless, disappointment was not gonna rule my day. I stopped at Trotters Cleaners off 114th and St Clair. I usually park in the front but traffic was pretty heavy so I parked on the side. There I see some teenage girls walking out of the driveway of my childhood home. I wanted to frantically wave at them as if I knew them; as if they were my fake cuzns, like so many of the neighbors that I grew up with on that street. I refrained from the wave, but I did gaze for a moment (the only bummer to the whole thing was that they were walking to Glenville, eugh!) I rode down 114th visually pointing out every house that held a fond friend or memory ( thats where Shelton & Miguel house used to be, Shan & Lowe, Maria, Christy & Meltrice, Nicole and nem, Maceio and nem, Tanya, Tonys....man I could go on forever). I rode on to work with a spirit of renewal, reminiscing about the comedy, the adventure, the mischief, the lessons, the blackmailing and snitching lil sisters (Lisa, Trese, Ruby, Mickie), best friends (Charlene, Toni, Frank, Marlin, Dauntez), the boyfriends (Hunter & Wayman) and everything else that made up the years that helped shape me into the person I am today. Smiling and feeling blessed.
