This is an interesting set sent in strictly to examine, and splice longer leads on. This was in a 1969 Gibson SG, gold covers. Now, usually gold covered pickups were almost always made a year or two earlier. These were made FIVE years before they were installed in the guitar, covers are probably 7 years earlier. This is a 64 Patent, the last year before TTops. The covers were PAF era gold covers, real beauties. Notice the stamped holes in the keeper bar, I dont like these and they were doing other things with these also. Notice where the pole screw coil is grounded in the middle of the baseplate, different from PAFs, you can almost date these and TTops by where the ground is, red poly enamel wire common to 64 and first year TTops. One of these pickups would be dead now if it werent for the cover being on, look at the sweat and rusting of one pole screw that just misses getting into the circle/square hole; if it got in the hole----dead pickup. Another odd thing, both pickups have North pole magnet polarity at the poles, never seen that before. Slugs have larger bevels than PAF. No decal, unusual but not unknown. Real low winds 7.3 and 7.1K, straight 10,000 winds recipe, auto stop counter on the winder. These pickups can be really screechy sometimes, and sometimes good, roll the dice......
