This is an interesting take that I have been reading in and Im just going to post it and see if you have any thoughts. I will delete it at 10pm so I hope to hear back. For thousands of years, in the jungles of the Amazon, shamans have passed their wisdom of the medicinal values of rain forest plants from one generation to the next. The Shaman was once a powerful healer who would pass on his knowledge to a pupil with the skills of an auto didact. One who is self taught without the need of prodding but learned from a curios nature and could figure things out who is more than analytical and who knows nothing of greed or fortune but only the love of the people in his immediate surroundings. For centuries this is how the shaman conducted his business until a traveler from the north made his appearance. This traveler didnt intend to turn the tide in a bad direction but it happened. This man went to the amazons and as he tied off his boat and he was greeted by a tirio native. They were all without garments and the only one who wore anything that could be remotely considered as a garment was the shaman. He wore a belt that had a string hanging from it with little knots that looked as if they were tied a certain way intentionally. As he approached the villagers they didnt try to hide their nudity because to them this was natural and not dirty but to the traveler he couldnt help but blush. He was prejudice at first because its human nature to be so when surrounded by people that one isnt familiar with as in this case but once the person becomes more familiar with the new people the prejudice dissipates, clearly this is not to be confused with racism because to be racist is to not even try to understand. He met the people with a friendly warm smile and they returned the response as so. Once communication was established he was shown around and upon entering the shamans place he saw all the herbs and and roots hanging from the window ledge and where ever something could be hung. No hand cleaners or fancy tools just nature in the raw form. He stayed there for a good while and learned much about the people. He learned about the herbs and what ailments they cured and when he left he took them with him. He had planned on returning to the village someday but needed to raise the funds first because travel was very expensive in these times. He decided to sell his new found remedies to the medical establishment and he did so but not realizing that what they had in mind was something totally different. He told them of his travels and the people he met. 4 years later he returned to that village as planned but this time they were all wearing clothes and the roots and herbs were replaced by pill bottles. It was explained to him that more of his kind came and taught them about God and that God did not want them using roots and plants because that was the devils work. They said God wanted them to use these pills made by educated men who knew about science and the human body.
