This is evidence that animals are often more intuitive than some people can understand. It doesnt surprise me nor is it just horses. I have seen similar results with a terrier cross and a cat around children with special needs. My dog would lie right down and nose a tennis ball to a little guy who had to wear oxygen tubing when the boy was too exhausted to throw the ball and lay flat on the ground. The two had never met before that moment. The cat wouldnt leave the bed of a sick little girl until she was up and around again.
