This is excellent news that a law suit is has been filed. however, i am still not convinced the descendants of Afrakans, on the continent and diaspora will benefit from such legal action, unless and until they have equal representation in those very same countries filing on the peoples behalf. i mean, how many grassroots groups are represented in these suits? Rastafari, is among the pioneer groups that have agitated, educated and informed the public on the issue of Reparations & Repatriation. Afrakan women and their female descendants, have and continue to be poorest and most marginalized people on the planet, is this law suit representative of all those who have suffered and continue to do so as a result of the legacy of slavery? when you look at the sum of the equivalent of 200 billion pounds, to me it is an insult added to injury. How can you even place a value on the great tragic loss that was caused by the Maafa, or Afrakan Hollocaust. a monetary sum would be just scratching the surface. hopefully, they included more in this law suit, for example: the elimination of all debts to the IMF, World Bank, and any of the creditors that seem to have these Afrakan and Caribbean nations in an economic chokehold. the 14 states i hope are requesting not only reparations but restoration in the form of all the artifacts, cultural items, ips, and histories of the enslaved peoples, returned to the respective nations. this law suit must include a demand for U.S., Britain, France, Spain & other nations involved in the slave trade to provide the technical, financial and any other support needed to bring these Caribbean and African nations to similar developmental status as these first world nations who profited from the slave trade. the suit must include future generations of descendants of Africans, and not just the ones living during the time of law suit. still i commend the group of Caribbean nations for the effort in even filing this lawsuit, but i am also challenging them to be more transparent and engaging of the people whose ancestors were the perpatrators of such violent crimes against humanity. am saying, make sure you are not selling the people out!!!!! 4 RS : REPARATIONS, RESTORATION, REPATRIATION, REDEMPTION.
