This is frightening! When we were in Boston it was $1.99 for a 20oz bottle of water or 99¢ for a Big Gulp (32oz). It doesnt have to be that way! We as consumers dictate cost through supply and demand. Create a higher demand for healthier products and companies will be willing to produce them at a more affordable cost because theyll be able to retain their profit margin. When all natural peanut butter first became popular it was double the price of traditional and you could only find one or two brands. Now JIF, Smuckers, Peter Pan, and even store brands offer affordable natural versions. You have so much power as a consumer and a parent to influence what is available in the grocery stores!
