This is going to be one of those posts where I discuss how awesome - TopicsExpress

This is going to be one of those posts where I discuss how awesome my friends are, and how dandy things are going for me. If thats not something you want to read, I get it. Sometimes I want people to stop bragging too. Thats why I suggested recently that I like when people post pictures of their smiling faces. Because sometimes that is all I want to know, that theyre A-OK. TL;DR for the rest of this: Im happy. Things are going well. Really well. But holy crap, this past week. Monday. Smash Bros. Amiibo tournament at EXP. I was psyched. Ive been described as generally happy-go-lucky, but Smash Bros. makes me ecstatic. The fights were so intense... and nobody was even playing! And gambling - even with fake money - really livens things up. And to think that Without EXP, Amiibo tournaments probably just wouldnt be accessible for me. And theres going to be more next month!* I walked away from that event, looking forward to training more - there is much work (by which I mean play) to be done. *https://facebook/events/1532974376988343/ Tuesday. West Coast Geeks Versus Nerds. You know, even if you forget that they put on an entertaining show, the crew of WC:GvN are a pretty remarkable bunch. I feel so much admiration from those people. To each other, to me, to them. Theyre the best example of a chosen family. The debates were really close this month. Or at least I had difficulty choosing sides. The cheering was rather straight-forward. But what I really liked was that - after the fact - people were actually discussing the arguments that were raised. I hate, I hate, I HATE when people decide who they are going to cheer for ahead of time. There was a lot of fun, there were a lot of laughs. And the people who joined me at my table were incredibly delightful. Oh yeah! If you go to Fan Club, their website says they have a daily happy hour special (4-7) where Single Hi Balls are $3. They wont honour that deal unless you make a fuss. And I think everybody who goes there should raise a stink. Next show: https://facebook/events/1583120361924537/ Wednesday. Fandom Feud https://facebook/events/727918520638239/ It works. If you wanted to know, there you have it. It works. Ill make sure to share the survey next time there is one. The catch is the show depends on survey results. One keen thing about the game is that it is uber-friendly competition. The teams are randomly drawn, so there isnt too much investment in your team (other than trying not to let people down). So when the other team has a good answer to a question, players dont get upset, but congratulatory. Hooray for a tone of good sportsmanship! Also, good audience. As far as I could hear, nobody in the audience was shouting out answers. I could see how tempting that would be. The point is, I had a very swell time and I recommend attendance. Also, I won a round. Friday. Geekenders Villain Prom. Ive been meaning to go to Fan Club some night for quite some time to see how good of a club they are. And this was an excellent opportunity. There was plenty of sitting; the bar was accessible; there was a pool table and a decent stage. While these are all neat features, I think it compromised the amount of room on the dance floor, which was pretty crowded. A lot of fantastic people showed up for a good time. I over-exceeded my quota of hugs, and meant every one of them. I am very satisfied with the amount of schmoozing I got in too. The event itself was exactly what I needed. The show itself wasnt the focus of the event, the dancing was, which is what I have been longing for for months. And then I won the title of Prom King. Yaaaaaaaaay. I couldnt have done it without Divya and Adam, who were there to push the hardness of my partying. It got to a point where I had a massive headache, but only if I stopped dancing. Dancing hangovers, is that a real thing?? A couple of people were pissed that I got the crown, so I suppose I should really be thanking Fairlith, Rael and Stephen, who Im guessing weighed in on the decision the most. Also, should I know this Chase Vigar fellow? Because damn, that guy can party. Saturday. Brunch at Edith & Arthurs. It costs $4 for two eggs, two sausage, two toast and potato. Four dollars. Ridiculous. And then, as if I hadnt been winning enough, I won a 50/50 draw! Spent $5, and won $60. Boo ya. Then I went to my brothers place. And without even thinking about it, we played Smash Bros. for 8 hours. There is so much to do in this game!!!! It never gets old. When I eventually went home, I watched Breaking Bad. It was the last two episodes of the 3rd season, and the first of the 4th. This show, man. It never stops surprising. And boy, is it getting violent. The stakes never go down! Get this - next week, I got two, count em two, D&D games on the go. Everything that I want to happen is happening!
