I am reminded of my travels to certain parts of the world - sub-Saharan Africa and India - where the pace of life, at least in the eighties and early nineties, was a lot slower than Europe. We are so impoverished by our overbusy lifestyles. One of my hopes coming back from my sabbatical is I will learn to "be" rather than always be a "doer".
