This is interesting. The Obama administration, which almost instantly gave recognition to a government which took over in a violent coup in Ukraine, will not give recognition to a vote of the people in Crimea, and even says its a violation of international law to let the people vote. From the article: Sitting side by side in the Oval Office with Yatsenyuk, Obama said he hoped last-ditch diplomatic efforts might lead to a rethinking of Sundays referendum on whether Crimea should join Russia.
