This is just a random observation and Id welcome any discussion or thoughts on it. In another fitness forum that I frequent, someone was seeking advice on what was essentially a very low carb diet (the claim was zero). Now while I would think scenarios where thats a good idea would be somewhat limited, the part that struck me was the advice to start adding in spoonfuls of coconut oil to the diet. And Im not going to challenge that idea, but it made me think about other people who are rather die-hard LCers, and seeing pictures of people eating butter by the stick (literally), and drinking 600 calorie coffees loaded with butter and oil. Something about this strikes me as comical. It would just seem to me that if your diet plan tells you to start eating sticks of butter and doing shots of oil that might be a red flag that would cause you to say Is this REALLY how I want to eat?. Believe it or not my intent here isnt to crap on the idea of low carb dieting. I just question how far some people take it and at what lengths theyll go through to avoid certain foods.
