This is my response to a local letter to the editor[Pensacola News Journal] by a local man named Pat Dooley, who attempts to evoke fear against and make a boogeyman of Muslims. The Newspaper gave me a 200 words limit to respond to this man in print, so I had to condense everything that needed to be said. But, prayerfully the point is made loud and clear. RE: Letter To The Editor July 22nd, 2013 "In a July 22nd letter to the editor a Mr. Pat Dooley, whom I assume to be a Caucasian and Christian, attempts to provoke fear against Muslims by compelling Americans to “wake up” and that Muslims are taught not to be friends of Jews and Christians. In his closing, Mr. Dooley compels those reading to “do more reading on this subject”. And this is my concern for writing, because Mr. Dooley has not done much reading on this subject. If he would have done a little more reading he would have discovered the Qur’an teaches nearest in friendship to Muslims will be Christians(5:82), Muslims can marry Jews or Christians(5:5), they believe in all prophets(2:136), all believers in God will have reward with their Lord(5:69) and Muslims are to protect and honor all houses of God(22:40). What Mr. Dooley and others who think like him must realize is that if there is some antagonism against Christians it is not because of their faith but the misdeeds of some European Christians. Misdeeds like slavery of blacks, robbing Indians of their land, dropping the 1st atomic bomb in history, foreign assassinations and coups, racism."
