This is old news - over 6 years ago. Im tired of hearing myself blather on about the issue; so, Ill just sardonically say, Nothing to See Here. Keep humming along with your affluent, privileged lifestyle and keep telling yourself the story how you are neither causing it, nor will you ever be personally affected by it. The economy demands status quo, industrial strength status quo: Work, Produce, Consume, Reproduce, Die. The Truth will not be altered by our attitudes, though the outcomes might be. Frankly, none of our puny, mayfly lives make that much of a difference anyway, at least, not as individuals on a cosmic scale. So, in the end, it doesnt matter much what the body-politic does with this and tangentially related issues; change is coming, and well either make it, or we wont. Remembering that it was microscopic life (cyanobacteria) that once completely altered the Earth by changing the atmosphere from a Sulfur, Nitrogen, CO₂, Ammonia and Methane composition (reducing) to a Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon mix (oxidizing), that humans might go down in the geological record as having had a comparable impact shouldnt come as too much of a surprise. [Free oxygen is toxic to obligate anaerobic organisms, and the rising concentrations may have wiped out most of the Earths anaerobic inhabitants at the time.
