This is only a joke, aimed at a society that does not recognize the knowledge nurses have, and under values their contribution to the heroic efforts made to keep people ``Well`` let alone Alive. A great deal, if not even MOST of their KNOWLEDGE as to how to best care for people comes from their experiences on the front lines, nursing all kinds of people, under stressful circumstances, than from studying books. This is just my perspective, and I`d wager I`ve spent more time in hospitals then any non medical worker I personally know . ** Some doctors actually also save lives, so do EMT workers. ** It actually takes a host of people working together to keep people well and to save lives. It is so difficult in the times to trust what we are told, to make time to seek out the best, to find the money to travel to the best doctors, I could go on & on with the challenges, but they are just challenges because we do have some of the very best medical professionals right here in our City. It may be a challenges but we can: * Find the ones that actually care more about their patients then the money they earn. * Find the ones who keep up with the latest effective methods, in spite of the confusing conflicting information out there. * Find Doctors, who egos let them ask opinions of others; other Doctors, Nurses, EMT workers, Technicians, Patients and Patient`s Families. (some nurses could check their ego`s at the door too) * Find a way to stretch the shrinking dollar. This is something we all can help with. As well as giving support: Emotionally, spiritually, continually to the great ones, so the great ones don`t get fed up and leave, because of never hearing they are doing a great job, in a very important field filled with HUGE stress. And Financially. We waste our important Dollars in so many ways, we need to set priorities. The government needs our help to fix this mess. And the NURSES, EMT, RNA`s, Techs, Doctors, and the rest need our help, too. I think the good ones, have Earned our Respect, they also desire and deserve our support.
