This is possibly the most magnificent effigy Ive ever seen - this - TopicsExpress

This is possibly the most magnificent effigy Ive ever seen - this is of Sir Giles Savage and his wife, Lady Catherine. Sir Giles died in 1616 and his wife died many years after, but note that she is holding a baby in her arms, an infant who was born after his father had died. Also note that four more children are kneeling at their parents feet. The detail is just magnificent - but the baby in her arms is so poignant. I havent been able to find out if the child died or if there is another reason for an offspring being represented as an infant like that. The effigy is in Worcester, UK.
