This is really one of the more intelligent videos I have seen on pain in a long time. As a person who deals with pain on a daily basis I am always amazed at the rather idiotic questions I am asked by health care workers concerning it. The whole idea of rating your pain on a level of 1-10 is absurd. So many things affect pain, your mood, your ability to distract your mind from it (i.e. watching a movie, listening to music, staying busy, etc.), the tolerance youve built up to pain medication, the tolerance youve built up to pain. Each of these are different during each and every episode of pain and should be taken into account. The very thought that you can quantify pain as you can quantify electric current is foolish, pain management is far more art than science.
