A couple of weeks ago I wrote a newspaper column on "Communications Etiquette," in the Pulaski County-Patriot, in which I discussed this issue. Not long ago I was in attendance at a funeral, which was well underway, when a cell phone rang. The man actually answered the phone as he rose from his seat and began talking as he walked out of the sanctuary. As I state in my column, if you answer your cell phone while we are talking, it is likely I will walk away, because you obviously have someone more important to talk to than me. It is the same with reading and sending text. When communicating with someone, they deserve your undivided attention and respect.
