This is summer in the morning at Kirra Beach. I love it. Today - TopicsExpress

This is summer in the morning at Kirra Beach. I love it. Today there was a slight easterly breeze. Waters were calm, clear and about 22.5% Celsius. I take my goggles and watch the big schools of little fish that get stuck behind the sandbar. Today the lifeguard said It doesnt get any better than this. I believe him. Anyway, the other photo is a triumph of design. Simple products that work just like the say they will are nice. This one has mesmerized me. I try and love all creatures great and small. But flies? In WA there are places we went to, like Lancelin in October, where they were so annoying you needed to buy a mesh for your face. At the Gold Coast Ive never experienced fly problems at all, certainly not at Labrador. After the recent rains they arrived here at Coolangatta. Who would have thought? I tried those sticky rolls. No good. Fly spray. Doggie and wife didnt like it much and it didnt work for long. A fly swat works but lets face it, this is intense work and while it appeals to my skill base, there is a yuck factor. So, I went to the big DIY store and bought a little plastic bottle with a yellow lid and some green powder. I warmed half a cup of water and put the powder in the bottle with the water and placed the rig in the sun. Well, you can see what happened only a day later. The flies love it. And they are leaving us alone. I thought $16 or so was a bit rich for a plastic bottle but I recant now. It works, thats good enough for me.
