This is the age of God saving the church ~ ( Body of Christ) ~ (Sons 0f God) ~ (Heirs of God & joint heirs of Christ)~ (Rulers & reigners with Christ in the here after). The rapture of the church ~ which is the body of Christ ~ is not the second coming of Jesus to earth. Christ 2nd coming brings judgement on all that have rejected Jesus as Savior & Lord. Gr. harpazo, to carry off: grasp hastily: snatch up. From this we get the word RAPTURE meaning the act of transporting. 2 Thess. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, ~ ( that is the third heaven) ~ with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, ~ ( caught up to the first or secod heaven) ~ to meet the Lord in the air: ~ ( meet him in 1st or 2nd heaven not on earth) ~ and so shall we ever be with the Lord. ~ (in the thrid were God lives). The Repture & second Advent 1 Thess. 2:19 (Gr.) parousia, personel presence. This refers to the rapture, not the second advent of Christ. It is not the sames as in 1Thess. 3:13; 4:13-17; 5:8; 2 Thess. 2:7. These two comings should not be confused. The scriptures that apply to one do not appply to the other. Not one passage passage refers two both evevts as if they are one. These disrinct comings are separated by sereval years & so, are not two stages or phases of one coming. The rapture is the first of two comings, the first is not a coming to earth but in the air. It could not be the second advent because Christ does not come to the earth to live here & fulfill a mission as He did in the first advent. When Christ meets the saints in the air He takes them back to the 3rd heaven to present them before the Fathers throne where they remain during the time the tribulation is running its course on the earth. (1Thess. 3:13; Jn. 14:1-3). Christ does not remain in the air with the saints when they meet Him as in (1thess. 4:13-17). The judgment of saints take place in heaven, then at the second advent after the tribulation Christ & the saints leave 3rd heaven together to come down to the earth (2Cor. 5:10 Rev. Rev. 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
