This is the church I went to while growing up, St. Turibius. Located at 57th and Karlov Ave. on the southwest side of Chicago it was founded in 1927 by George Cardinal Mundelein to serve the growing number of Catholic families who had settled in the area. A small wooden frame church was replaced in 1951 by the one seen in this picture which I took from the choir loft in August of 2014. I received five of the seven Catholic sacraments at this parish: Baptism, Communion, Reconciliation, Confirmation and Marriage.
