This is the thought that has been penetrating my mind - TopicsExpress

This is the thought that has been penetrating my mind lately: We are all one. Connected inseparably by this bond. It is our ego that makes us perceive ourselves as separate. As such I cannot hurt another without hurting myself. I cannot be mean, be spiteful, be rude to another person without it damaging myself. I cannot lie, steal, cheat or violate another person in any way without it tearing myself down. I cannot hold resentment or judgment towards another without it poisoning my spirit. Likewise, whenever I treat another person with kindness, with compassion and with love it nurtures my spirit and soul as though someone else had treated me this way. Likewise- we cannot hurt ourselves without it hurting others. And any amount of love we show to ourselves blesses the world. This is an ancient truth taught by a thousand spiritual masters. This is the golden rule, the principle of Karma, the law of reciprocity. And yet it is something we as humans seems to forget too often. It is a simple truth that seems to elude most of the world. How different would our lives be if we chose to only speak positively about others, and if we chose to only show kindness and love to those we meet? How different would the world be? Would war or poverty or crime be possible if we all understood this? All our problems in life come from disconnecting with love. Our greatest work in life is learning to align ourselves fully with love, and releasing everything that disconnects us from it. This thought has gripped my mind for a while now... I feel somehow this is the key to a lot of the problems we face. What do you think?
