This is the time of year when I, a summer person, start compiling a list of whats good about winter to help me deal with the approaching cold. Its not all bad. So far Ive got: 1. No mosquitoes, horse flies, or other little pests. 2. Poison ivy and oak are mostly dormant (though Ive been fooled before on this). 3. Easier to walk through the dense woods around here. 4. Better stargazing on those cold winter nights. 5. Less yard work, so more excuses to dig into a book or watch movies. 6. Campfires, bonfires, and fireplace fires. I like fire. Thats about it. Id welcome any other reasons to look forward to the barren, dismal landscape of winter, so bring em on!
