This is truly one of the greatest books, after my Bible of course, that Ive ever held in my hands. It contains the music for 150 of the worlds greatest gospel hymns, along with the stories of who wrote them, how they wrote them, why they wrote them, and what they were going through at the time they wrote these great hymns of our faith. Starting very soon in our services on Sunday, we will be singing one of these hymns and also telling the story behind the hymn. I feel it is important for all of us to have a grasp of these great hymns of the faith and know the stories behind them. Whether your preference is singing hymns or not, there are deep doctrinal truths embedded in these songs and they are a blessing. Mud River Baptist will continue to be a blended worship music church, meaning that we will tastefully blend and balance the great hymns of yesterday along with some of the wonderful praise and worship music of today.
