This is what happens when Political Correctness becomes INSTITUTIONALIZED: The real genuine victims of horrible crimes are ignored, their victimization tolerated, so as not to offend the criminals. When this behavior becomes Institutionalized, then morality, law, civic consciousness, as well as duty become a fiction and the authorities that are supposed to protect helpless victims fail in their duties. The fundamental damage is that such a society no longer knows how to distinguish right from wrong; victim from victimizer; duty from privilege. This happens too often here in the US as well, particularly when the X-phobia label (e.g., Islamophobia) is used as a weapon against genuine and honest critical examination of a subject.
