This last class for my degree school project, that I started on May 27th and finish on July 22nd, has been a real brain kicker. I had to create a business with no more technology than phones, and then create a plan to bring them into leading edge technology; I had to figure out what it would take to wire the whole place and give everyone desk and mobile devices, then find the equipment, do price quotes and put together an estimate. Then I had to create the Project Management documentation, with Gantt Charts, resource tracking, etc... I had to create the database tables, calculating forms, searching queries, and specialized reports that sales, service, and parts, would use, and make up data in a text format, and then import the text into Excel and populate it with the artificial statistics. Then create the support web pages to help the employees figure out how to use the new equipment and applications. Use a programming language to create a network accessible document for payroll. It has to have drop down menus and fill in boxes and a button that calculates gross, deductions, and net, with warnings that pop up if they have too many hours or dont enter the information in the proper format. I had to figure out the best methods of online and physical security for the information. I created multipage spreadsheets with specifications, placement information and numbers, and price calculations that cross and interact between all the sheets of each different category and then into a main sheet that summarizes everything. I had to put together a full on Business Proposal with details and summaries of all that I had done in a Word document, that I would hypothetically submit along with my presentation, for the approval of the Stakeholders of the company. Creating the Presentation was the last part, now next Tuesday, we have to actually use the overhead and such, and give our presentation to the class and a panel of instructors. I can hardly wait to see what my final class, for the next level degree, is going to be like in four more semesters ... :o :\ :( :) :D :\ .. LOL
