This might start a fire, but here it goes. Stop demonizing young, single parents. I hear so many people comment on their tax dollars and how theyre paying for our children. I hate to break the news, but the vast majority of us work. A lot. And a lot of us work two jobs just to make it work. A large group of us are furthering our education so we can better provide for our kids. And sure, there are awful single parents out there, but there are just awful parents in general. Just because a person is young, it doesnt make them any less competent than a middle aged, middle class person when it comes to parenting. In fact, most of us could run circles around those people any day of the week with our hands tied behind our backs. It is time to step out of the 1950s and enter 2014. Some people are single parents because they WANT to be. Others had a bad run of luck. Some people had toxic relationships that caused more dysfunction than being a single parent. Until youve been a single parent, dont make stupid comments, ridiculous allegations, or unkind remarks. *rant over*
