This morning, CNN cited a statistic that 71% of Americans think invading Iraq was a MISTAKE. Liberals and moderates blame Bush because he took a healthy economy with a 250 Billion dollar surplus and literally drove it in the DITCH. He ruined it and left it with a 6-8 Trillion dollar debt and debts increasing EXPONENTIALLY. He left MILLIONS of Americans out of jobs and major banks and corporations in various stages of insolvency. Trying to turn something like that around, especially when you have a Congress whose sole aim is to obstruct job creation(They voted against three different jobs bills.) or anything else that is constructive. We are still trying to overcome Bushs mistakes because the 5 man majority on SCOTUS ruled that Corporations were people and authorized unlimited spending on public elections and individual campaigns. Because of that ruling, the TBTF Corporations managed to elect 30 governors and a majority in the Congress/House in 2010. Why was 2010 significant? Every ten years the US takes a census and restructures the political districts of every state according to population shifts. Well, that is the way it is supposed to work. Instead, each of those thirty governors restructured their political districts to favor a Republican majority in MOST of those districts. Thats GREAT you say. It would be EXCEPT, YOU DONT CONTROL THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. THE TBTF CORPORATIONS AND THE 1% DO. So,,,effectively, EVERY TIME YOU VOTE FOR A PERSON ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE A REPUBLICAN,,,YOU ARE SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT. WHY? Because the person you voted for isnt representing you, they are REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE THAT PAID TO GET THEM ELECTED. So,,,thanks to SCOTUS, we have a Republican majority in the Congress that hasnt done much legislatively except to obstruct the Senate and the President from doing anything that would improve the economy substantially or would result in the opposition looking better politically. SO,,,we have a Congress, an Obstructive Congress, a Congress that isnt working for you, in office by eliminating a Democracy that each of you would like to have back. Why? Because you will need it some day. Things NEVER remain the same. Republicans AND Democrats both need money to get elected and that makes them vulnerable to be corrupted by those elements of our economy and society that have money in surplus. 1% of the population controls 40% of the wealth in the US. Since 1981, the incomes of the 1% have increased 286%, while the middle class has been wiped out by unemployment and stagnant wages over the last thirty years plus. 50% of our population is now classified as Poverty Level. The media doesnt talk about it, but synonymous with loss of wealth, means loss of POWER. The ability to do things/make things happen. The wealth and power whoarders have now become so powerful they can manipulate you so that you dont even know it. They do it by controlling what you see and hear. They do it by reducing spending on your education. They do it by spreading misinformation that people in poverty are lazy and dont want to work for a living. Never mind that the available jobs are minimum wage(which Congress has voted against increasing while voting themselves a raise in January next year.). Want to know WHO is controlling this country??? Look at the Boards for the major corporations in this country. Look at the Board controlling the Federal Reserve System. Dont be surprised to see some foreigners there. Lastly, dont listen to the haters or others that would divide you and separate you from everyone else. By listening to them, you dilute your power and your effectiveness. The people controlling this country do it by keeping you from uniting against them. They sow hate and mistrust. Look for independent sources that depend on you to pay for their service. Compare democracynow.org and see what is different from what you have been watching. Look at the sources you have been advised to hate. Think what you have in common with your designated enemies and think about what makes sense. Trust yourself to explore. Try Aljazeera. You might be surprised. My motive is simply to gain support to oppose those who abuse this country and their power. EXPLORE!
